Trail Overview
This is a dirt-based road on State of Washington land in the Wenas unit. You can only travel down from Cleman Lookout Road and must return that way, as there is no exit to Highway 12 due to a Private Road and a locked gate by the lake. The trail has a steady and sometimes steep decline with a total of over 2,800 feet in elevation loss. The trail is a shelf road near the top with large drop offs/ledges and is bumpy and jarring the entire way down. There are rock garden sections and some loose rock on the trail, so take your time. There are a couple of switchbacks and several mud holes/puddles, and the trail is one vehicle wide the entire way with some places to pass. A Discover Pass is required to enjoy this area, and the trail ends just above Mud Lake at a closed gate. A high clearance 4x4 is recommended for this trail. There are no amenities along this trail, and cell service was weak. You are over an hour from the nearest services on this trail.
