Trail Overview
Kidney Pond Road is a 2-mile point-to-point route through the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge. This single-lane gravel road winds through the forest and is rough and narrow in spots. A few rutted sections add some uneven terrain along the way. The main challenge is a steep climb with a loose gravel surface that can reduce traction. Outside of this climb, the route is relatively straightforward and provides access to the surrounding refuge.
Difficulty
Kidney Pond Road is rated moderate. The steep, loose gravel climb requires good traction, while rutting and narrow sections add some additional challenge. Wet conditions may make the route more difficult.
