Trail Overview

This 8.2-mile point-to-point trail begins as the pavement ends and continues to Evans Creek Campground and Trailhead. This is a well-maintained service road that is 2 vehicles wide. When open, the trail continues to Mowich Lake in Mount Rainier National Park. The campground has multiple primitive camping sites with vault toilets and is first come, first served.

History

Evans Creek Trailhead provides access to 40 miles of combined 4WD and motorcycle/quad trails of varying difficulty. This is a fee area and requires a US Forest Pass or Interagency Pass.

The Carbon River Canyon bridge was found to be defective during an inspection by WSDOT. Check with the DOT about SR-165 road into Evans Creek ORV, Lake Mowich, and the Carbon River entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. The bridge to that area is closed.
