Trail Overview

East Phantom Bear is an ATV and dirt bike trail that climbs through the Foothills Offroad Vehicle system using numerous tight switchbacks to gain elevation. The trail features several steep sections that require good throttle control and line choice, culminating in a prominent 7-foot rock face near the upper portion of the trail. Riders who prefer to avoid the obstacle can take an optional bypass around it. There is a sign warning of the drop.

Difficulty

East Phantom Bear is rated 7 due to its sustained steep climbs, frequent switchbacks, and significant rock obstacle. While most of the trail is easier, the 7-foot rock face is a serious technical feature that will challenge even experienced riders, though the optional bypass allows less experienced riders to continue without attempting the drop. The combination of steep grades and tight turns makes this trail best suited for confident riders on ATVs and dirt bikes.
