Trail Overview

Cave Creek Trail is a short connector trail that accesses the midpoint of Osborne Mountain Trail. The south end of Cave Creek Trail starts at the end of Cave Creek Road, and it climbs north for a half mile to connect to Osborne Mountain Trail. The entire length of the route is a shelfy narrow trail that side-hills along the mountain side. It’s cut into the hillside with significant exposure off to the side of the trail. The trail is a steep grade the whole way, gaining over 250 feet in a half mile. It’s easier than Osborne Trail, making it an easier bail out or access point if you don’t want to ride the entire length of Osborne Trail. It goes through a dark and dense forest of hemlocks. This trail is open to motorized use from 7/1 to 2/29.

Difficulty

This is an intermediate trail due to a constant steep grade and significant exposure on the narrow path. Although the trail is smooth and free of rocks and obstacles, the exposure is more ideal for experienced riders.
