Trail Overview

Tillman is a gravel Forest Service Road connecting several other Forest Service Roads to a State Highway. The area includes several reservoirs with fishing and kayaking opportunities. There are several well-traveled hiking trailheads along the route with parking areas. Tillman is a well-maintained gravel road easily passable by most passenger vehicles. Several dispersed camping areas along the route. Cell service in the area is very spotty at best.

Super easy trail, basically just a gravel road. If you turn off to go to Hearthstone Lake about halfway, the trail down to Hearthstone has some pretty gnarly ruts. If you stay on Tillman, it's a 1/10. The trail to Hearthstone is probably a 3/10 especially if you don't want your line. Bonus is that Hearthstone is a pretty reservoir and seemed like there was good fishing.

Dirt road - great campsites along the road. Nice big one right north of Hearthstone Lake that had enough room for all 7 of us, just be aware of the poison ivy in some spots!
