Panther Creek

Panther Creek Road is a short, well-maintained hard-packed gravel road that offers a relaxing drive through some of the area's most picturesque rural landscapes. While the route is not long, it rewards travelers with beautiful views of rolling mountain meadows and locally-grown Christmas tree farms, making it one of the more scenic drives in the region. The route is suitable for all high-clearance vehicles, as well as most smaller AWD vehicles under normal conditions. Plan to take your time along this route, as there are several excellent opportunities to stop and enjoy the sweeping meadow views, photograph the surrounding mountains, and appreciate the peaceful countryside. During the fall, the surrounding hardwood forests add brilliant color to the landscape, while the open fields provide excellent opportunities to enjoy the quiet beauty of southwest Virginia.
