Trail Overview

Prepare for a technical and engaging climb. The route is packed with natural rock ledges and tight, steep switchbacks that require careful tire placement and steady throttle control. As you gain elevation, the trees thin out to reveal some of the most commanding views in the region. This route could be difficult for a stock 4 x 4, depending on the weather.

Difficulty

This exhilarating spur off Pinnacle Road is a significant step up in difficulty from the main forest service roads. It provides a direct, technical ascent to the Pinnacle Fire Tower. Expect a rugged climb defined by frequent rock ledges, steep vertical steps, and tight, hairpin turns that will test your vehicle’s clearance and your spotting skills.

2021 Ford Ranger

Made it all the way to the last straight stretch after the last switchback. We looked at that second and got sketched out. I’m in a 2021 Ranger Tremor with ZERO mods from stock other than Nito AT tires. We aired down to 25lbs to make the attempt and that was it. Maybe with a 2” lift for additional ground clearance I would try it again with the same setup. Location looks exactly the same as previously posted photos.
