Trail Overview

Cedar Bridge Hollow, designated as FS 36D, is a seasonally open route with access from April 1 through January 10. The trail begins as an easy, well‑maintained gravel road with minimal vegetation overgrowth. As it climbs the mountain and continues deeper into the forest, the difficulty increases to a rating of 2 due to more pronounced rutting and rockier terrain. Several larger embedded rocks appear along the upper sections of the trail, requiring a few inches of ground clearance and either 4WD or larger all‑terrain tires for comfortable travel. Despite the increased difficulty, the corridor remains wide enough for maneuvering. The trail ends at a fire pit with enough space to turn around. Numerous suitable dispersed campsites can be found along the route, offering quiet forest settings even though the trail does not provide any scenic vistas.
