Trail Overview

Toquerville Falls is a moderate trail that is marked by an amazing set of waterfalls on La Verkin Creek. It begins in the town of Toquerville, just north of St. George. The road is rutted in parts, and it crosses directly over the creek, so this trail isn't advisable after heavy rains. Stop at the falls and enjoy a swim in the cool water for a refreshing escape from the heat in the summer.

Difficulty

This trail has some rock ledges 2 feet tall or higher, there are washed-out areas that are 2 feet deep, and there were some water crossings about 12 inches deep. There were also some steep climbs that were loose rock. The trail is a loop, with the eastern loop, south of the falls, being more technical than the western loop. The western loop is more traveled than the eastern loop.

Trail was very rough the first mile. The east side of the loop is easily a 5/6. Lots of steep, rocky obstacles with no bypasses. The west side of the loop is stock vehicle doable.

Definitely more degraded and rocky than I would expect a 3 to be. There were easy sections, sandy and smooth, but there were also many very rocky and steep ascents and descents. Bronco Badlands SAS handled it fine, 35” but glad I had 4L and swaybar disconnect.

The trail is hardly a graded Road for the description. There are lots of steps. Rock obstacles up to 18 in deep. There is a bypass to the right going up on the steepest ones. The rating is still three, but the description is a little misleading High Clearence highly recommended.

It’s very rocky the first 2 miles or so with occasional steep climbs, my buddy on a pick up got high centered a few times. I would say is more like 4-5 in some areas due to deteriorating of the trail but 70% of the trail is actually very easy. I would recommend at least 8’ of clearance and rear solid axle

First 2 and half miles is hella rocky and kinda steep. After that I took the first left at the fork and the rest is very well graded dirt road. After the falls I wanted to take the other way back but after couple of hundreds of yards it looked super rutted. I was riding solo so didn’t want to get stuck and got back out the same way I went in.

Great day on the trail. Dry, rocky trip with some inclines (declines coming back down). Trail get a little tight as you near the falls - high chance of pinstriping if you have full size rig. Most areas allow room to pass with a few exceptions. Few step obstacles require some route planning - if you have high clearance should not be an issue. We traveled with a Ram 1500 (2” front level kit and 33” tires). Pretty fun trail and falls are a lot of fun.

First 1.5 miles were pretty rough but after you get passed the first mile it’s just some rough sandy roads. Took a stock 4Runner trd off-road and was able to get through it. I wouldn’t say this is a 3 especially for stock vehicles but maybe a 4 or even 5 in some check points. Had enough clearance to get through it all though.

First two miles of the trail are a trail rating 3, with lots of rocks, rutted road and ledges 6" to 12". Stock 4x4 with off road tires will be fine if you have off road experience and can identify appropriate lines for your rig. After the first two miles the road is a graded dirt road to the falls. We stayed to the right at the fork.

Rocky and a few ledges until the road splits, but nothing too difficult. Took a left and the road smoothed out quite a bit from there until the waterfall.

The first mile or so is pretty rocky but easily passable. We saw a stock Jeep have no issues. Once you get to the split, stay left for a simple graded road the entire way to the falls. We chose to go right and really enjoyed ourselves! Several obstacles and creek crossings made it a lot of fun. Even with all the rain this week the water wasn’t too high. We took the graded road back, adding a side trip up to the towers - the views were well worth the effort!! This was a fun ride, all dry, no issues.
