The Slope - FS 10140

This trail branches off of Blind Stream and climbs steeply back out of the canyon to where it smooths out and continues west across the flat. This trail starts off well maintained at the start before transitioning to have some smaller rock obstacles as it gets close to the end of the main climb. The grade leading up from the start is steep, with it averaging 14.5% grade for the first mile of trail, with some spots being 16% grade. Once past that first mile, the trail does not climb nearly as steeply and begins a short descent to where the trail dead-ends once past Headache Road. This trail is open to all vehicles and is closed seasonally from October 1st through June 1st every year.
