Trail Overview

Southside Tobin Bench is a scenic 2.7-mile downward route perfect for beginner to intermediate offroaders looking for a quick, scenic descent from Tobin Bench toward the Enterprise Reservoirs. Traversing a mesa top at elevations ranging between 4,009 and 4,495 feet, this trail offers impressive panoramic views of the surrounding rugged landscape. The route features a gentle elevation loss of roughly 515 feet and is rated a technical 3, making it highly accessible for standard four-wheel-drive vehicles, high-clearance rigs, and SxSs. While the dirt trail is mostly straightforward, drivers should expect some rutted sections and minor off-camber transitions, particularly as the route drops down toward the bottom of the bench. Because of its location on the mesa, there is limited cellular connectivity, with only about one bar of LTE service available along the path. There are no established campsites along this short connector, but the route passes through working ranch lands with two livestock fences. Visitors must respect local ranching operations by ensuring the signed fence is kept closed, while the other fence may be found open. This trail is ideal for those seeking a quick, scenic route to connect with the main trails leading up to the Enterprise Reservoirs in southwestern Utah, offering a pleasant drive through Dixie National Forest's lower-elevation terrain.
