Trail Overview
Seegmiller Overlook is an easy, scenic 7.2-mile dirt route on the Arizona Strip in Mohave County, offering panoramic desert views from nearly 5,000 feet. Ideal for beginners, the trail winds through desert washes and open public land, climbing from 4,348 feet to a high point of 4,962 feet. It connects the Mount Trumbull School House trail to the south with the Seegmiller Mountain - Sunshine Trail Interconnect to the north.
The unpaved dirt surface is generally smooth but can become highly slick and washed out after rain. While high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended due to potential erosion and soft sand in low-lying washes, stock SUVs and crossovers with decent clearance can navigate the route in dry conditions. No services are available along this remote stretch, so travelers should carry extra water, fuel, and self-recovery gear.
Access Description
The trail crosses public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) on the Arizona Strip. There are no fees or permits required to access this route. Visitors should pack out all trash, yield to uphill traffic, and avoid driving during wet weather to prevent road damage and erosion.
