Trail Overview
The Red Rocks Trail is a short dirt bike trail in White Wash that connects Mary's Trail to the Red Slot Single track. This is a good bail-out from Mary's or a good way to access other trails in the area such as Red Butte and the Arch Trail. It goes over red slabs of sandstone, then drops down into a sandy wash. This one is easier than Mary's Trail, and it's really cool to ride over the red slickrock Mars-like hills. Most of the trail is pretty flat, with small climbs and descents up and over the slickrock hills, but there are a few steeper spots. There is one pretty steep descent off the mesa on the south end to drop into the wash that can look intimidating. If you keep your weight back with smooth braking, the descent is not too difficult because the slickrock holds traction pretty well. After dropping off the rock features, there's about a mile or so of sandy single track along the base of the mesa on flat ground. This section of trail has a lot of whoops, embedded rock in the dirt, going up and over small dirt hills, and is super easy. Look out for the rock arch near the east intersection with the Arch Trail.
