Polly Springs

It’s a beautiful, fun, quick ride that rewards you with views. I’m not sure why it is rated so high, I’d call it a 3. No mandatory pin stripes, and the spring is barely flowing. I didn’t encounter any other motorists. As others have said, the trail is narrow and hard to let others pass in many places. But if you stay alert and look for places you can pull over, I think you’ll find there are enough opportunities to get over if you’re willing to be creative.

Ran both Polly Springs and Polly Ridge this morning. As prior reviews stated, there is extremely limited places to pull over and let someone through. So if you run this trail, keep your head on a swivel for spots to pull over. And if you do happen to meet someone head on, remember that the onus is on the vehicle traveling downhill to back up to a passing spot. Something that could prove challenging on this trail. Additionally, if you or your passenger(s) are off camber phobic, this trail has it in spades. Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to tippy. Maybe even a three point turn in the switchback elbows where necessary. With all that said, once you climb above the tree level, the views are amazing of Heber valley and the Wasatch back. And if you go the full monty and take Polly Ridge, right near the end you come to a fork in the road. The right fork leads you to a great observation point with aluminum picnic benches. Great place to stop and take it all in.

Trail was decent, one sketchy rut that seemed like you wouldn’t want to put the tires in. Trail was pretty narrow and not a lot of places to pass if you meet other vehicles. Some beautiful views. Some steep drops you’re driving next to. Not real technical most of the trail. requires some level of nerves to drive.

Very fun trail think it’s more of a 4 not a 5. It is very busy in the area right now with fall leaves but the trail was much less crowded. There is a small water crossing but other than that it’s just dust.

Lots of medium rocks some large ones. Need decent clearance. One water crossing that was very shallow this time of year. A bit dusty and narrow at places. Easy to scratch sides due to some of the scrub oak beaches sticking out. Beautiful view at the top to both Heber City and Jordanelle. If there is someone coming the other way it would be trouble as the only way to pass would be in the switchbacks.

The front half of the switchbacks has some deep ruts and off camber turns, but beyond that, it's an easy ride and peaceful.

Trail is rocky with loose dirt and side hills in places. Challenging but fun. Saw two other vehicles in two hour ride.
