Trail Overview

Rather than staying on the main road to Cutler Point from the Crocodile Trailhead, you can take this short side excursion to petroglyphs carved on a wall along the trail. They are a short hike up the hill once you have parked at the top of the short side trail. The glyphs are starting to fade, so be sure to treat the area with respect. If you look closely, you can identify people, snakes, deer, and many other figures. With a little exploration to the west of the main glyphs, you will find another set in an alcove that have fallen from their original position.

Difficulty

The trail has some off-camber areas and deep sand. You will be traveling in a wash for part of the trail. It is not really difficult; you just need to take a little care in a few places.

Sandy trail, not deep sand, 2WD accessible. We did stop and view the petroglyphs on the wall. They were not significant in number of them, but they were very cool to see. Unfortunately, grafitti has covered some of the petroglyphs. The best visible ones are about 15 ft up the wall so protected pretty well.. The trail is sand, but not deep.
