Trail Overview
Juniper Lane is a beginner-friendly connector route in the Fivemile Pass OHV area that provides quick access to a vast spiderweb of surrounding desert trails. Spanning just under 0.7 miles, this short trail is ideal for those looking to transition between longer routes or explore the endless off-shoots of the Utah County high desert. The trail offers wide-open, panoramic views of the arid landscape and surrounding mountain ranges, making it a scenic and highly accessible drive. With an easy technical rating of 2, it serves as a gentle introduction to the area's terrain, climbing gently from 5,374 feet to 5,446 feet.
The primary surface consists of hard-packed dirt that is easily navigable by almost any high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle, SUV, or OHV. It is accessible year-round, though spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures, and winter may bring occasional snow cover. Drivers should stay on the designated trail to protect the fragile desert vegetation and be mindful of other recreationists sharing this popular multi-use OHV area.
Difficulty
This very short connecting route takes you to and through a spiderweb of other trails in the area. The number of off-shoots and alternative trails seemed endless. Nothing of difficulty to note aside from possible water / mud holes on trail during wet conditions. Great views of the surrounding desert landscape.
Access Description
The route is located on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land within the Fivemile Pass recreation area. No fees or permits are required to drive the trail, but all OHVs must be registered or have a valid Utah non-resident permit. Spark arrestors and whips may be required depending on vehicle type.
