Trail Overview

Harmston Overlook is a short out-and-back trail that branches off of Elkhorn Loop and heads West to where it ends at a parking lot right next to a large overlook of the canyon below. This trail is rough as it heads to the overlook, with some small ruts and sections with small rocks throughout. This trail seems bland as it travels through an old logging area with lots of clearings and small trees until it reaches the end, where there is a small parking lot next to an expansive overlook of the canyon. There is also a short spur before the end that heads out to another good overlook point. This trail is open to all vehicles year-round and has no seasonal closure date, but may be impassable due to deep snow during the winter and spring months.
