Trail Overview

This is an out-and-back dirt and rock 4WD high-clearance route into USFS lands on Fisher Mesa, between Parriot Mesa in Castle Valley and Fisher Towers/the Top of the World trail to the north. It's a rocky, tight forest dirt track that has a few minor ledges and leads to a spectacular mesa rim viewpoint. Signage is non-existent once you're on the USFS road, so remain on the most well-traveled trail.

Difficulty

This is a tight, rocky forest dirt 1-lane track with no signage. Expect some muddy spots, small ledges and boulders, and overhanging trees for much of the route, so body paint damage is possible.

Do not do this trail if your vehicle is wider than 65” because it will leave marks on your paint. Otherwise it’s a rocky trail with a few spots to climb or descend. Some cool views through the trees. It was snowy at the entrance which made it slick coming down the initial hill. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t recommend this trail, there are other ones much closer to downtown. But there is a ton of camping available on this trail.

Narrow Rocky trail. Lots of brush over hanging the trail. Not much fun. Best suited to SXS, 4 wheelers and bicycles.

Great views, custom pin striping. First 2/3 of trail was heavily encroached by trees especially middle half. Some portions moderately off camber at around 15-20 degrees lean. No real challenging obstacles but some steps would need high clearance (we had stock rubicon wrangler who bumped lightly once).
