Trail Overview
This segment serves as a vital individual building block in the area's trail network, providing a critical alternate route to the standard Day Canyon Route, which is closed. The trail allows drivers to bypass the closure by skirting the edges of the area's giant dunes, ultimately establishing a clear, untracked connection between the open sections of the Day Canyon Route and Long Canyon. The terrain consists of a dirt base layered with distinct sandy sections and rocky stretches. Drivers should be prepared for some significant rock shelves along the route that require careful line selection, proper tire placement, and adequate vehicle clearance to scale cleanly. Difficulty & Obstacles Primary Surface: Dirt with distinct sections of sand and rock. Key Obstacles: Multiple significant rock shelves that add technical flavor and demand focused tire placement, combined with deep sand sections along the perimeter of the giant dunes.
