Trail Overview

Cutler Point-BLM1035 is a 4.3-mile point-to-point trail rated 3 of 10 located in Kane County, Utah. This is a destination trail; halfway in, you encounter Cutler Point and a short hike to the Great Chamber, which is part of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. A 4WD vehicle is a must due to the potential for deep sand on this track. Spring or fall are ideal times for visiting the Great Chamber at Cutler Point with lower temperatures. The Great Chamber is a very large cavern that has been naturally carved in the sandstone face of Cutler Point. A large sand dune fills the entrance to the cavern. Once you reach the trailhead of the Great Chamber, you'll need to hike 0.25 miles to the actual cavern. The hike is uphill and the last section is straight sand. Cell phone service is intermittent and the nearest services are in Kanab.

Took forever and the washboards were so big that there was no way for speed to improve it! Used this trail to go from the great chamber to Peekaboo canyon. It would have been faster to go back out to Johnson canyon road, through Kanab and back to the north! Won’t do it again unless I’m in a side by side.
