Trail Overview

The trail starts from the Peek-A-Boo trailhead. The trail starts with a trek through some very deep, loose and fine sand. You will likely have to air down your tires if you are running street/hard trail pressure in this area. After reaching the wash, the remainder of the trail is more standard sand-covered hard pack. The views of the Grand Staircase are spectacular. Also, remember to bring a bright flashlight to get a special view of Hidden Lake. In the Hidden Lake area you will also see Native pit houses. If an area is fenced, please respect that fence. BLM and nearby land owners are not happy to have the traffic in this area.

Difficulty

There are areas of deep sand, and a creek crossing of Kanab Creek, but it is generally shallow. During wet times/flash floods this is not a trail to be taken.

We used most of this trail to Cutler Point parking area to visit the Great Chamber. Definitely need a high clearance vehicle for this trail. We were in a Jeep Rubicon mostly stock. Airing down was crucial, had 4x4 on the whole time, and there were tight turns that had us side-swiping some vegetation.

Trail is really enjoyable and the pay off is bar none. The sand can get really deep in some spots but nothing a good 4x4 with decent tires can’t handle. We went on a Tuesday morning and it was pretty empty.

Severe washboards and super deep and soft sand. Beautiful country.

i don’t have photos or video to show, but you could very easily get stuck on this trail, be prepared with four wheel drive on and get some speed, the ruts are super deep but it will bring you straight to the peek-a-boo canyon sight, drop psi to recommend 18-10psi, definitely worth it but just be cautious

This section of trail looked like it hadn't been used for a while. It's a very scenic drive. Trail rating of 2 or 3 was accurate.
