Trail Overview
This spur trail branches off Winter Camp Ridge and offers a fun side trip with light obstacles and a rewarding scenic finish. The route is primarily sand-based, with numerous whoops and rolling dips scattered throughout the trail that keep the suspension working and add some playful character to the drive. While the terrain is mostly straightforward, there are a few rocky ledges that must be climbed or descended along the way. These obstacles are not especially difficult, but they do require slower speeds, decent clearance, and basic tire placement. The real highlight comes at the end of the trail, where the route reaches an overlook with sweeping views into Arches National Park and the surrounding red rock country. It is an excellent place to stop for photos, take in the scenery, and enjoy the contrast between the rugged trail and the dramatic landscape beyond. Visitors planning to partake in mountaineering, such as hiking, canoeing, swimming, or rock climbing in the area, should be aware that permits are required for these activities beyond the gate.
