Trail Overview

Comb Wash Road follows the iconic Comb Ridge. The road itself is on BLM land and is suitable for most all-terrain vehicles. There are some water crossings in the Spring or when storms are nearby, so be careful to pay attention to weather reports. There are many side trails that lead to petroglyphs and ancient cliff dwellings. It is, for the most part, a pretty easy trail with amazing scenery and vistas.

Ran Comb Wash South —> North…..~19 miles total. First half of trail from the south to the Fish Creek trailhead was mostly free of sand, washboarding, or rough patches. After Fish Creek, the northern half became substantially sandier. Keep that in mind if in a 2WD or if rain has been an issue.

This is a nice leisurely trail that handrails the west side of the ridge. It has good views and there are some campsites. It was dry and very dusty, but should be easily traversed by almost any vehicle.
