Trail Overview
Non-Resident OHV permits apply to ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes. Plated street-legal vehicles typically do not need one on legal motorized routes. This track is a rocky backcountry route that delivers excellent scenery from start to finish. Much of the surface is made up of loose and embedded rock, creating a rougher ride than a typical sandy desert road and keeping drivers engaged throughout the trip. The obstacles are generally mild, with numerous smaller ledges and steps scattered along the trail, but none exceed about one foot in height. One of the more notable challenges comes from the vegetation. Trees and brush have grown in close along several sections, creating tighter corridors where larger or wider vehicles are likely to pick up some pinstriping. While the trail is not especially technical, it rewards drivers with constant panoramic views in nearly every direction. Whether looking ahead, behind, or off to the sides, the surrounding landscape provides dramatic scenery that makes this route worthwhile even without major obstacles.
Difficulty
This trail is rougher than a basic dirt road because of the constant rocky surface, tighter brush-lined sections, and repeated small ledges under 12 inches. There are no major obstacles, but steady tire placement and decent clearance are helpful throughout the route. Larger vehicles may find the narrow sections more challenging.
