Trail Overview

This short trail is a fun obstacle within Sand Flats Recreation Area. If you are skeptical of running Hell's Revenge, you can use this short trail to get a taste of the obstacles on Hell's Revenge. This is a short steep climb up the Lion's Back to traverse across it and then take a quick drop off the back of the Baby Lions Back (easier line off the back is to the right). The further left you go off the back the more steep the drop.

I decided to let my wife shop while I got us ready to head out of town. I ended up heading up towards the park to see what it was all about, next moment, I felt ballsy and decided that doing this in a full size truck may be fun, and it was, coming down made me pucker a little but never bottomed out (thank you Toyota crawl control). If you can’t drive straight while staring at the sky, this might not be for you.

The short climb was super fun. The decent is more tricky than the climb. It rained in Moab area 2 days before I was there so the landing area to that decent was a large puddle. Very fun short obstacle. 4x4 with at least 9-11” of ground clearance is needed to not bottom out coming off the backside. A Tesla model X made the climb right behind me but was then forced to make a 35 point turn to flip around and go back out the entrance. Don’t be that guy. Enjoy it the right way and take the right 4x4.

Be careful you don’t hydrolock your engine in the puddle at the end. Check the depth or be very careful.

Started at the hump, right before you get down it (towards the bottom) there is a steep drop with 3 different lines. After that is/was the puddle... ih8mud, so I opted to turn around and take the rock back.
