Trail Overview

Skull Canyon is an extreme off-road trail that delivers a demanding adventure from start to finish. The route begins at the bottom, where you drive through a dry creek bed strewn with small rocks. As you progress further into the canyon, the trail’s technical difficulty ramps up quickly, with the terrain shifting to much larger rocks and loose boulders. Approaching the main climb, you’ll encounter steep, off-camber sections and significant obstacles, making for a very challenging ascent. The loose boulder field at the base of the big climb requires careful tire placement and advanced driving skills, while the remainder of the trail is marked by rugged surfaces and drastic elevation changes. Skull Canyon is best suited for highly capable vehicles and experienced drivers seeking a true test of skill in extreme rocky conditions.
