Trail Overview

This trail is part of the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. As you drive on the loose gravel road, you will find side roads that lead to a waterfront oil rig driller. There are several that branch off towards the water or towards Sandy Point Road. Like all trails in this park, it can be accessible by any AWD, 4x4, or 2x4 vehicle. There is no camping in this location, however, you can enjoy some fishing, hiking, bird watching, and plenty of areas for a family picnic.

This gravel and dirt trail branches off to several open areas which would be great for fishing. Nothing difficult about the terrain. Great views of the lake.

Pretty views, roads are just gravel. You can go pretty close to the waterfront. I hoped for some water crossing but didn’t find any. The oil drills looked very cool and was fun to see them up close.
