Trail Overview
Middle Earth is an otherworldly journey to moderately difficult climbs and descents. There are fun stair steps that your vehicle will climb made of smooth rock that can hit just right on longer wheel-based vehicles requiring a locker and some momentum to crest. After additional dips and curves, there is a very quick up-and-over or tabletop obstacle to clear before choosing an easy or more technical line to exit the trail. There are also tons of interesting pieces of petrified wood that can be seen on this trail.

Difficulty
Middle Earth is a rocky but fun trail when entering from Salt Fork Section 1, there is a bit of sand and a few vertical obstacles to cover before a steep climb that has a washout on the passenger side, IFS vehicles can and will lift a tire climbing or descending this hill. From there, you go through a steep descent that you will need to watch your tire placement then a steep climb with ledges that can give certain wheelbases a tough time. The rest is a rocky trail that is a lot of fun. Be aware of tire placement and high clearance is required. The last major obstacle is a table top where tire placement is paramount. This is a good time to get out and look before you leap.
