Trail Overview
Green Horn is a one-way trail winding its way through a scenic creek bed. After a good rain, the character of the trail changes, with slick rocks adding an extra layer of challenge. Along the route, you’ll encounter stretches of boulder-filled rock gardens and a handful of ledges to climb. Roughly a third of the way in, there’s a bypass around the toughest ledge, so keep an eye ahead for it. If you miss the bypass and do not attempt the hardest ledge, you’ll need to reverse through a small rock garden to get back to the bypass. Not long after that ledge, the trail briefly splits, offering an easier line on the left and a harder line on the right. The trail ends at the intersection of North Pole.
Difficulty
Green Horn is a technical trail with large boulders scattered throughout the creek bed, requiring careful tire placement. Slick rocks can knock you off the chosen line easily. It features several ledges, some of which will undercut tires. The tallest ledge is close to five feet, though a bypass is available.
