Trail Overview

Forest Service Road that starts along Tellico's North River. This is a beautiful small river home to some of the best fly fishing around. This road will take you up to a truly breathtaking view of the Tellico mountains and into the valleys below. You will be able to see Tellico Lake from up here on a clear day. There is a small hike out to the overlook but you will be rewarded along the way as you hike through a native meadow that is outstanding in its own right.

I have done this trail a few times in the past but it was like a new adventure covered in snow. Such a wonderful day. Peaceful and serene.

Easy ride the top up by the meadow is bumpy but air down some and it's not bad I did the whole thing in 2wd with no issues the lower portions are very wide and well maintained.

Gate at the end of trail to allow you to drive into the meadow and the bald is currently closed and locked

One of my new favorite trails! Beautiful views and decently smooth roads! Lots of bigger loose rocks so just keep a clear sight ahead and you’re good!

Nice easy rd. Stopped and had lunch at a little shop in green cove on River rd before hitting the trail. A lot of campsites along the way. Almost hit a couple of mountain bikers that were flying around a blind corner. Did not go all the way to the cabin instead turned left and got on the cherohala skyway via the north river rd to upper santeetlah

Slightly busy trail with camping areas and pull offs, was going to see the Whigg Cabin but the road to it (meadow area) is CLOSED. The drive up to that gate was rough, bumpy, and lots of loose gravel and big rocks.
