Trail Overview

This is a relatively easy gravel road to navigate. There are a few rocky areas and some ruts that may require some vehicle clearance. The road is two-way traffic, so watch as you go around curves. The views that you get while climbing are stunning. There are a few places to camp along the road and one is large enough for several people.

Difficulty

Other than a few ruts and rocky areas, the trail is easy. You shouldn't have any issues getting around. Doing this in the snow isn't recommended due to some steep drop-offs.

The road starts off pretty bumpy with lots of small rocks and light ruts scattered about but gives way to some very good views to the north early on and at the end once you arrive at the old watch tower. Towards the end of the road, before the watch tower, the ruts get worse and the road becomes more steep. 2WD will be just fine, but low clearance and a stiff suspension will make you want to turn around.

Fun ride that even a stock Subaru Outback can manage. Watch for sharp rocks though.
