Trail Overview

Inman Point Road is a scenic and moderately challenging trail nestled in the heart of Prentice Cooper State Forest. The trail kicks off with a steady incline featuring a mix of dirt and embedded rock—some of which reach up to 18 inches in size. After the initial climb, the trail levels out into a well-graded and fairly wide path, easily navigable by full-size vehicles. Several pull-off spots are available along the way, allowing for safe passage when encountering oncoming traffic. One of the highlights of Inman Point Road is its role as a connector or "gateway" trail, giving drivers access to multiple other offshoot trails throughout the park. It branches off from Hailey Road, the park’s most challenging trail, known for its technical features. Hailey Road trail offers bypasses for all difficult sections, so Inman Point Road can be accessed by any 4WD vehicles. Inman Point Road is subject to seasonal closures, so always check local park conditions and maps before your visit. Cell service in Prentice Cooper can be limited, and the park is open at sunrise and closes at dark.
