Trail Overview
This is a challenging trail but doable with a high-clearance vehicle as long as you choose very specific lines. We did this trail in a stock Jeep Gladiator with 33" tires with no lift and only maxed out our clearance one time. Before starting this trail remember, trail difficulty is subjective and largely due to experience and rig setup. The most challenging areas have by-passes so you do not have to do those. The trail starts fairly easy but quickly descends at around an 18-degree pitch to the creek crossing. The creek crossing could be difficult if there have been a lot of recent rains. Climbing out of the creek area isn't too steep and has one switchback. At around 2 miles there is a climb with rock ledges. This is where I dragged the rear differential just a little. At mile 3.25 there is a very difficult section that you should only attempt if you are experienced and have great clearance. Fortunately, there is a bypass to the right. At mile 3.5 there is another difficult section that you should only attempt if you are experienced and have great clearance. There is a bypass on the right for this one too. At mile 4.4 there are two trails that you can take on the right side of the trail that appear to be difficult. The rest of the drive-out is easy.
