Trail Overview

This trail is less maintained than the other trails in the area. There are some places with deep ruts and one place that is off-camber that we marked with 18 degrees of roll. I would recommend airing down to smooth out the ride although it is not necessary to complete the trail. We drove this trail in the rain which creates some large puddles but none that caused any issues. I am marking the trail as gravel but when it is raining it is mostly mud. There are a few places for great views along the trail but you would mostly see those in the winter when the trees are bare. We had spotty cell service along the trail (Verizon). This trail is part of the Georgia Traverse trail which is a bunch of trails that are strung together to make up a large, mostly offroad, drive across Georgia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwHllfWVLbk

Difficulty

As you know, trail difficulty is subjective and largely due to experience and rig setup. This trail is not difficult but is rough in places. You will need some clearance to get over some of the ruts. There is one place that goes down a hill that is rutted out where we marked the pitch at 9 degrees and the roll at 18 degrees. We have a Jeep Gladiator with 33" tires and no lift and we made it without trouble.

Very easy, did not need 4wd. There were quite a few large mud holes that would require higher clearance with the largest covering the whole road. Nice trail.

This trail has received many improvements in recent months. It is now easy to traverse in most vehicles, but there are still a few steep sections. The road is now in very good condition.

There was a road closed sign, but I saw the bulldozer was parked and drove it anyway, north to south. The entire road has been re-graded, widened, and all the drainage culverts replaced. Thery are still hauling out the logs from the clearing and I had to back up a couple hundred yards to let a log truck by. Some of the old culverts still need to be hauled off and the excavator is still out there, but off the road. It is now very smooth, and dusty. I'm guessing they are going to put down gravel soon. This road is now a "1" and can be driven in a 2 wheel drive sedan with no problem, at least when it is dry.

Trail is close except for access to the hiking trail. Seems to be trail clearing and tree removal
