Trail Overview

This is a well-groomed, gravel, fire service road. You do not need a 4x4 to do this trail. We did not have cell service (Verizon) on this trail. In the fall there should be some good views. There are some dispersed camping spots along this trail. When we visited they were doing some prescribed burns.https://www.youtube.com/@gladventures/videos

Did approximately the first 20 miles going counter clockwise. The first half of my trip was mostly gravel forest service road in decent condition. The second half was rougher consisting of larger rocks on the roadbed. Most of this could be done with most 2wd vehicles with decent clearance. The roughness of it though had me averaging about 3-4 mph. However there were several washouts that would require good clearance and 4wd. Twice I had to get out and look the obstacle over to choose my line. In short, any stock 4wd with good clearance should be able to handle this but don’t be misled into thinking this is just another FS gravel road. I’ll return with more trail reports when I go back to do more of this loop.
