Trail Overview

Big Clifty is a mild introduction to the forest roads in the area. This seven-mile track climbs to the Meadow View Lookout Tower and is easily traversed by a 2WD vehicle. Cell service is available at the top. There are no camping spots on this road, but there are options close by. The tower is a great quick side trip if you're only in the area for a day, or this road is a good addition to a route traversing the region.

The wife and I took this trip ( Big Cliffty Rd and Meadow Creek Tower Rd.) on September 6th. However, there were a few trees with a little color already. There were a couple of fairly nice dispersed camp sites you could drive up to or back into. one was a little off the road which would be our pick. There were some epic views especially after we got on Meadow Creek Tower Rd. The overlook was amazing. This was a beautiful casual off the beaten path trip. We would recommend you add it to your list of trails to travel for a little mountain therapy.
