Trail Overview

This 3.5-mile-long single track through the Black Hills is a challenging route full of technical loose climbs, technical rock pinches, and rock ledges. There are lots of really steep hill climbs and descents. It's constantly going up and down, so will be difficult regardless of which direction you come from. The climbs are tricky because they have embedded roots and rocks, creating rock ledges over a foot tall, plus loose rocks and loose dirt. They are rutted as well, with a few logs down. The whole trail is a grind through loose rocky sections, making it hard to maintain momentum and traction. You really have to hold pressure on the pegs through the rocky sections to avoid getting your front end jammed in the rocks. It will be difficult for riders lacking experience going up rock ledges. It goes through a scenic area next to big giant boulders and goes through open glades and meadows. This is a really cool trail because of the technical challenges.
