Trail Overview
This is a generally easy dirt road that runs along the base of the Kittatinny Ridge, terminating on one end at the unpaved Bake Oven Knob Road. The road is wide and hard-packed dirt/gravel, but does periodically develop small ruts from water runoff. It is a municipal road, which means all vehicles must obey posted speed limits and be registered/insured. Open year-round, it does receive winter maintenance except for the approximate 0.35 miles off of Bake Oven Knob, which is within the state game lands boundary and is generally unmaintained in the snow.
Difficulty
Non-technical and easy in most vehicles. It can be traversed in 2wd under normal conditions; heavy rains can generate small ruts, but the road is wide, and they can generally be navigated around. Due to slower/partial winter maintenance, it can become difficult, sometimes impassable, in heavy snow.
