Trail Overview
Borrow Pit Path - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Borrow Pit Path. It should be able to be traversed by anyone on a motorcycle, ATV, SxS, or OHV. Borrow Pit Path is 0.3 miles in length and is part of the larger network at the park. Originally named, this was one location where stone fill was “borrowed” for trail maintenance. As part of the windmill project in 2025, this area took on a large transformation as much material was borrowed and other fill was hauled in, and many large stones remain, creating obstacles for rock crawling. From Borrow Pit Path, there is access to multiple OHV trails and access to wind turbine 14. This trail is mostly dirt with the potential for both embedded and loose rocks, mud, standing water, and a large open play area. This trail is open to bikes, ATVs, SxS’s, and OHVs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in March 2026.
Difficulty
This is an easier dirt trail with some uneven and rutted sections. You will encounter some standing water in locations, loose rocks, and obstacles under 12 inches. This trail is one vehicle wide with locations to pass.
