Trail Overview

Aughenbaugh Road is a 5-mile (out-and-back) dirt road with a great scenic overlook with a view of Avis, Pennsylvania, and the Pine Creek Valley. The road has a few steep grades with larger rocks and gullies. It ends at the beginning of private property. There are posted signs and a gate with a large turnaround area.

Difficulty

Aughenbaugh Road is a moderately easy trail for any 4x4 vehicle. There are challenging grades and rocks along the way. There is no winter maintenance, so please use caution in times of snow and ice.

this trail is a slow paced rocky trail with some wash outs. the vista is spectacular! most stock 4x4 vehicles are perfectly capable although lower clearanced cross over's should use lots of caution.
