Trail Overview
Tiger Creek is a scenic, 12.9-mile unpaved mountain route through the Umatilla National Forest, beginning south of Kooskooskie, Washington. The road follows the Tiger Creek drainage, climbing over 3,600 feet through dense forest and switchbacks with views of the Blue Mountains. Highly approachable with a low technical rating, the route is generally navigable by high-clearance AWD vehicles, though drivers should watch for loose gravel, minor washouts, or fallen rocks.
The route ends at an intersection with Kendall-Skyline Road and roads to Jubilee Lake. Reaching an elevation of nearly 5,700 feet, it is best driven from late spring through autumn when free of snow.
Access Description
The route runs along Umatilla National Forest Service roads. There are no fees or permits required to drive on these public forest roads, but all vehicles must be street-legal or equipped with appropriate state off-highway vehicle (OHV) permits. Seasonal closures can occur due to winter snow accumulation, typically blocking vehicle access from late autumn until late spring.
