Trail Overview
Three Fingers Viewpoint Trail is a short but rugged climb that rewards with 360-degree panoramic views and a close-up of the dramatic Three Fingers rock formation. The trail begins with a very steep and rocky ascent, where 4-Low is highly recommended for control and traction. After the initial steep climb, there is a rock garden to maneuver around. Then the route crosses a high meadow saddle before reaching a scenic viewpoint just below the base of the Three Fingers. Though short in distance, the terrain is very rocky and slow-moving--airing down your tires is essential for comfort and traction. This trail is all about elevation, technical driving, and big visual payoff.
Difficulty
Due to the steep, rocky climb and uneven terrain, this trail is rated a 3. High clearance, 4WD with low range, and good tires are required. Short but demanding, this route is ideal for experienced drivers who want a technical ascent with huge scenic rewards.
