Trail Overview

Three Fingers Loop West is a rugged, high-desert route that winds through stunning rock formations and mountain vistas in every direction. This trail delivers big on views and challenge, traveling through terrain lined with sagebrush and rabbitbrush as it climbs, dips, and weaves across uneven, off-camber surfaces. The road is very rocky and deeply rutted in several places, demanding precise driving and good equipment. Around mile 4.5 to 5, a very steep hill climb adds to the trail's difficulty--especially if the trail is wet. Mud can turn the entire route into a much more technical experience, so use extra caution in rainy conditions. While slightly challenging, the scenery is nonstop: towering rock formations and distant mountains dominate the horizon, making this a go-to for those who want both challenging and unforgettable views.
