Trail Overview

This is a single track dirt and rock road with some passing spots. It is swampy in some areas, and the mosquitoes are thick. Weather will increase the difficulty quickly and there is no reliable cell service. The trail is at a high elevation, so you can expect snow almost any time of the year.

A few deep mud pits and some snow fields on the trail. Made it to Summit Lake fairly easily. Excited to head back there later in the summer.

Fairly easy, ran quite a ways in 2wd but did have to do a lot in 4high. Saw a couple stock 4Runners, don’t need an over built rig. A stock Subaru might be able to make it but it would be tight and probably bottom out on some ruts. Not an overly hard trail, lots of fun.

During last year's forest fires, it seems the forest Service graded the road so it is no longer nearly as rough as it used to be. Clear of snow all the way to Summit Lake.

No snow whatsoever and lots of mosquitos…bring bug spray. Easy road for a smaller dirt bike, side by side, ATV, or 4x4 but a decent challenge on a big BMW.
