Trail Overview
This is a dirt-based forest road that leads to the Mount Stella Lookout Tower. The trail starts off wide enough for two vehicles and gravel-based, then transitions to dirt-based where there is an open gate. The trail becomes narrow and one vehicle wide with no room to pass. There is rock garden and some boulders sticking out of the ground near a foot by the gate, which makes this ascent bumpy. The trail steadily climbs over 700 feet in elevation in under a mile and a half. There is one sharp curve with a ledge and long drop-off that offers panoramic views of the mountains around, and the curve is wide enough to pass other vehicles. The trail dead ends at the wood shed just down the hill from where the tower stands in the trees. The trees have grown up around the tower, hiding it, and the tower is not in good condition and cannot be climbed. There are dense forest views at the top and an area big enough for 3-4 vehicles to park. Cell phone service was weak, and there are no amenities; the closest services are approximately 40 minutes from this trail. Any vehicle type could traverse this trail.
