Trail Overview

The trail begins at the Peninsula Campground on the south side of Ollallie Lake and climbs away from the shoreline, offering stunning views of the lake below as you gain elevation. The trail is dirt with small embedded rocks, and while generally passable, expect potholes and rough patches, especially as the route begins to climb. It passes Monon Lake and ends just after Horseshoe Lake. This area was severely impacted by wildfire, and the trail is lined with cut trees and fire-remediation debris, giving a raw look at the landscape's recovery. While not overly technical, the road becomes slightly more challenging with rockier sections and uneven terrain as you move uphill.
