Trail Overview
FS 4510 is a generally easy but bumpy gravel trail, characterized by frequent potholes and occasional deep puddles that can make for a rough ride. It can be accessed either from Hillockburn Road or via Green Mountain Road using FS 4510-160. Along the way, several offshoot trails branch out, including FS 4510-160 back toward Green Mountain Road, a spur leading to a rock quarry play area, and a walk-in-only path that provides access to Clear Lake. Be aware that two gates are located near the junction of FS 4510 and FS 4520, which may restrict access to the final segment of the trail depending on conditions or seasonal closures. Overall, this route is well-suited for light off-roading and offers a relaxed way to explore the scenic Goat Mountain area.
Difficulty
This trail is very easy and can typically be completed with a 2WD vehicle. However, there are some deep potholes along the route, so a vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.
