Trail Overview
This maintained road connects to Round Mountain Lookout. The road is generally well maintained, although the surface is quite uneven and includes numerous mounds that make for a bouncy ride. Traveling from south to north, there are also sections on the inclines where water erosion has created exposed rocks, ruts, and rougher terrain. These areas require a little more attention but are still manageable along the route. Two white lines have been spray-painted across the trail, apparently marking the route, and a few other markers are visible in the surrounding area. The drive offers views of the surrounding mountains and makes for an enjoyable ride. Dispersed camping is permitted along the road, although we observed no dispersed campsites during the trip. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
Difficulty
The uneven surface, mounds, ruts, and eroded sections make this trail moderately challenging.
