Trail Overview

This trail is a beautiful and well-maintained forest drive that winds through towering ponderosa pines and low brush, creating a classic Central Oregon landscape. The road is primarily sandy and easy to travel, although rocky sections begin appearing after the first mile and gradually become more frequent. Drivers should watch for exposed rock beds, sharp rocks, and larger boulders scattered along the route, as these can be hidden among the sand and may require slower speeds and careful tire placement. With this trail’s combination of scenic forest, enjoyable driving conditions, and excellent access to additional routes, it is an outstanding choice for overlanders and anyone looking to spend time exploring the surrounding backcountry. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker. Seasonally open between 04/01-11/30
